Sinopsis: ’Inside to Outside’ is Christopher Gutkind’s first collection. He was born in 1963 in The Hague to an American mother and British father-the latter originally a German-Jewish refugee. He spent much of the first twenty-four years of his life in Canada, except for a year in Nigeria at 7 and a year in Edinburgh at 13, and later went to McGill University, where he studied History and Literature. He moved to London in 1988, studied Librarianship at the University of London, and lived in London for 10 years thereafter, during which time he began writing poetry seriously. He later lived in California, from 1999-2003, but is now once aghain based in London. He holds British, American, and Canadian citizenships, something which hje says "has given me a very strange sense of home". He is currently a librarian at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London.
